Scientists analyzed the data of 74 studies, which involved more than three million people. It turned out that those who slept about 10 hours a day were 30% more at risk of premature death than those who slept about eight.

Also, a ten-hour sleep increased by 56% the risk of death from stroke and by 49% - from cardiovascular diseases. Poor sleep quality increased the risk of developing coronary insufficiency by 44%.

Deviation from the existing rate of sleep in the greater or lesser side increases the risk of developing heart disease, the researchers explain. They recommend that doctors pay more attention to the quality and number of hours of sleep in consultation with patients.
